WGM recognises the enormous challenge that humankind faces in tackling the climate emergency and the cultural transformation needed to achieve sustainability goals, including reducing carbon emissions. As a business, we understand that by working with our employees, our community, clients, partners and stakeholders, we can play our part in building a sustainable future. Our sustainability action plan is designed to transform our thinking and how we work to achieve necessary improvements in efficiency and carbon reduction. The action plan is structured around five key pillars that provide the framework to support WGM’s business objectives and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We have set out a bold ambition to achieve net zero emissions by 2033 and have developed our Net Zero Routemap. To achieve our aspiration and deliver a significant reduction in investment emissions, we are committed to adopting the principles of the circular economy, i.e., reducing waste and retaining as much value as possible from products, parts and materials. As such, we have achieved significant carbon savings by refurbishing assets or reusing and enhancing assets with innovative designs. WGM will continue to seek opportunities to improve its processes and practices to make further reductions.
As a business, we are passionate about changing accepted practices and transforming how asset owners think about the carbon impact of their decisions. We must challenge ourselves and our clients to drive change and look for every opportunity, big or small, to reduce the impact of our work on the environment and reduce our carbon emissions.
