WGM Engineering was recognised at an awards ceremony hosted by the Energy & Utilities Skills Partnership.
We were delighted to be one of 41 energy and utilities and supply chain companies that successfully passed their audits to win the coveted Procurement Skills Accord Awards for 2021/22.
The Procurement Skills Accord (PSA) is a national initiative from the Energy & Utilities Skills Partnership to encourage increased investment in targeted training and skills across the supply chain. In its fifth year, the initiative is supported by 50 signatories, and WGM Engineering is proud to be a signatory organisation, working collaboratively with the sector to drive investment in skills and make changes in procurement practices.
The awards were hosted by Phil Beach CBE, CEO of Energy & Utility Skills, and featured speaker Tim Balcon, Chief Executive of CITB. Forty-one companies were presented with an award for their pioneering efforts to transform investment in technical and operational skills.
Ian Mathieson, WGM Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have won a coveted Procurement Skills Accord Award for 2021/2022. This significant recognition underpins WGM’s skills solutions to help attract, develop and retain a sustainable, skilled workforce to ensure the seamless delivery of our essential services in Scotland.
“We know how important it is to invest and develop the technical and operational skills that our sector needs and have an unrelenting focus on the development of our team, creating a real learning environment where our people can grow and achieve their full potential.”
Jim Fingland, Learning and Development Business Partner, collected our award at the face-to-face event yesterday. Jim is pictured below, beside Tim Balcon (Chief Executive of CITB) on the left, and Phil Beach (Chief Executive of Energy & Utility Skills) on the right.
Again, we are thrilled with this achievement and would like to congratulate the other 40 companies that received their award beside us!
